During the period of COVID movement restrictions we spent a lot of time walking on Hampstead Heath. Through Spring and Summer, wildflowers filled the meadows, filled us with joy and gratitude and I knew I had to paint them. I chose to create these paintings by cutting up and weaving together two painted flowerscapes.
The paintings are all made on vintage book paper. If you look closely you will discover bits of text and symbols – unexpected bits of fun. The weave adds a sense of movement and naturally entwines the meadow greens with the flowers.
A quiet meadow of blue bells. They are a sight to behold, a gently shimmering carpet of blue and purple. I love bluebells so much that I have not one but three paintings! They would look beautiful together or individually.
